The Story Behind The Inclusive TA

When I became a parent more than 20 years ago, I never imagined that one of the biggest challenges our family would face would be simply leaving the house and exploring the world.

As the parent of an autistic young adult, I’ve spent decades navigating sensory sensitivities, neurodivergent needs, accessibility concerns, and all the extra planning that many families never have to think about. There were times when travel felt impossible. The world wasn’t always designed to be welcoming, understanding, or accessible, and I remember wondering if meaningful vacations would ever be part of our family’s life.

But instead of giving up on travel, we learned how to make it work.

Over the years, I gained firsthand experience planning trips that accommodated autism, sensory processing differences, changing routines, mobility considerations, and unique support needs. Travel became more than a vacation. It became a way to build confidence, create memories, and prove that our family belonged in the world just like everyone else.

That experience inspired me to create Travel by Danielle | The Inclusive TA.

Earning my Certified Autism Travel Professional (CATP) credential through IBCCES was very important to me. I wanted to combine my personal experience with professional training so I could help other travelers and families discover what I learned firsthand: travel is for everyone. You just have to know how to plan.

My expertise extends beyond neurodivergent travel. I have extensive experience navigating food allergies, dietary restrictions, and specialized travel needs. I’ve traveled as a celiac, planned trips with vegan and vegetarian travelers, and helped coordinate travel for individuals using feeding tubes, among other dietary restrictions. I understand that dietary accommodations are not an inconvenience. They are an essential part of creating a safe and enjoyable travel experience.

I am also passionate about helping LGBTQ+ travelers, couples, and families find destinations where they feel welcomed, respected, and celebrated. As well as supporting solo women travelers and travelers from marginalized communities seeking safe, affirming, and enriching travel experiences.

At the heart of my business is a simple belief: travel is for everyone.

Whether you’re looking for an autism-friendly cruise, an accessible resort, a family vacation, a destination wedding, a solo adventure, or a getaway with friends, my goal is to create a travel experience that fits your needs, your comfort level, and your dreams.

Because the best vacation isn’t the one someone posted on Instagram.

It’s the one that works for you.
